For our first trip to Istanbul, the staff at Sultanahmet Palace hotel ensured that we arrived in comfort, and remained that way through the duration of our stay. Myself and my wife both enjoyed our stay in our room, but more importantly the interactions with the each of the staff members and facilities management. They went out of their way to ensure that our needs were immediately met, even going above and beyond to ensure we knew how to navigate the local tram, pointed out sites, and even helped coordinate transportation for when we left the city center to visit Eyupsultan & other sites not within walking distance. The staff maintained a level of cleanliness and decorum that was respectful to the guests, but most importantly, it reflected the reverence the facility held for being in the footprint of the revered Blue Mosque. We were grateful for the ability to stay here, and will book again when we return InshAllah.

Our room was comfortable, we had a corner room with a sea view and balcony. We loved sitting out on the balcony with coffee in the morning looking out at the water. The hotel was low key but we liked its style and its location was terrific - tucked away on a small street right across from the Blue Mosque, but without being too busy. The only drawback was the bathroom; it was so tiny it was hard to close the door and the shower was a handheld nozzle located over an ablution bowl that sprayed water all over the room because there was no adequate curtain to separate it. We would still stay here again because overall we liked the hotel a great deal, but the claustrophobic bathroom and weird shower arrangement is a definite negative. The breakfast was an ample buffet and the indoor/outdoor dining area had a nice view over the water.

The hotel is in a great location. As soon as you step out the front door, you have a perfect view of the Blue Mosque across the street. The rose garden in the front courtyard was in full bloom. The manager worked with us with our "modified" booking mistake and honored a refund. They even gave me a rose for our room. Breakfast was amazing. You can order eggs any style and even had a frame of honeycomb. Fresh fruit, salads, olives, meats and cheeses, bagels, croissants, muffins, breads, juices, coffee or teas, etc. Ocean view was a plus. Inside or garden seating. The room was spacious with everything we needed and more. Thank you to the staff and management for making us feel welcomed and your help with transportation. We highly recommend and will return again some day.

The location is perfect; close to the major sites (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi) with view of the Bosphorus. Easy to walk to sites, tons of restaurants and the tram. Surprisingly quiet and tranquil location. The room (double w/sea view) was attractive, though small. The balcony, with distant view of the sea and close view of the Blue Mosque, was a nice addition. The breakfast was outstanding; lavish, with so many choices, both traditional Turkish breakfast items, eggs and breads, sweet and non. The staff were helpful, gracious and professional; some were especially delightful and friendly. Wifi was good.

Great hotel, close proximity to Blue Mosque and Sophia. Beautiful garden inside and a lovely view from a restaurant patio. I would agree with previous reviews that it needs renovation, but it still has some authentic charm the way it is. You get what you paid for as the price is really reasonable for the location and quality. The excellent service and exceptionally helpful and friendly staff compensate for any issues (except one, see above).
